Chevening Fellowship for International Relations alumnus

27th October 2008

MA International Relations alumnus Subindra Bogati, from Nepal, has recently been awarded with a Chevening Fellowship by the UK Government.

Under the scheme, Subindra will attend a 12 week programme at the University of Birmingham focusing on the rule of law, democracy and security issues.

Subindra is currently working for the Government of Nepal. On hearing that he was to be awarded with the Fellowship he said: 'I am very excited about coming back to the UK for this course. My time at London Met was fantastic, and this course will give me an opportunity to review democratic issues relevant to my job in Nepal.'

Scholarships are offered in over 150 countries and enable talented graduates and young professionals to become familiar with the UK and gain skills which will benefit their countries. The Chevening programme currently provides around 2,300 new scholarships each year for postgraduate studies or research at UK Institutions of Higher Education.

Chevening Fellowships are funded and awarded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) of the United Kingdom. Most scholars already have a first degree and the majority study for postgraduate degrees particularly Masters courses. Scholars study in the UK for a minimum of 3-months.
