Internationally acclaimed jewellery designer, Anthony Roussel has been awarded the prestigious Innovation Prize at the 10th Inhorgenta Europe Design Podium Awards in Munich.

Anthony was selected from 190 designers in recognition for his outstanding jewellery collection. His achievement coincides with winning two categories at the annual Hidden Art Awards in London. He was also shortlisted for the Outstanding Young Business award in association with Metropolitan Works.

Anthony has adapted his own unique style with inspiration from the epic sweep of the British coastline, together with his passion for modern architecture. He has also developed a cutting-edge technique of using wood that is laser-cut and meticulously layered to create his unmistakable trade-mark designs.

The Inhorgenta judging panel described his contemporary technique as ‘skillfully interpreted, offering a personal reflection of movement and a charming statement of rhythm’.

The Innovation Prize comes on the back of previous awards for his collection, including the Precious Metal Bursary with the Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths. The collection has also been commended for Fashion Gallery Jewellery at Goldsmiths’ Craft and Design Council.

Anthony, who completed the BA Jewellery at the Sir John Cass Department of Art, Media and Design, was delighted to receive the prize. ‘Upon graduating from London Metropolitan University it was my aim to enter the design podium awards in Munich. I am extremely pleased to have been recognised for my collection by winning this award’, he said.
