Leading Architect praises JCAMD student's work
30th October 2008
Jagna Kucharczyk a graduate of the BA Interior Design and Technology Course at London Metropolitan University’s Sir John Cass School of Art, Media and Design (JCAMD) has been selected by architect Zaha Hadid for inclusion in the ‘Curators Choice’ at the NOISE Festival 2008.
NOISE is a Europe-wide media showcase for young creative people aged 25
and under, gaining them exposure in UK and international media through
partnerships with MTV, BBC, MSN and features, profiles and programmes
in many creative print publications.
Every year NOISE festival organisers ask a panel of leading
professionals across each major creative discipline to select the best
work submitted for inclusion in a media showcase. This year, each
curator chose 5 pieces of work from over 9000 submissions. Jagna’s work
was selected by Zaha Hadid for the Architecture section.
Talking about Jagna, Hadid said: ‘She was my first choice, because
at the age of twenty five she achieved a high level of sophistication
and professional excellence. There's a kind of layered complexity to
the project, and I think it's beautiful, elegant and has depth. Someone
like this could immediately step into our office to work and contribute
on a high level. I would highly recommend her to get into more
sophisticated computational geometry using scripting and learning and
building up her skill repertoire.’
