London Met now on You Tube, MySpace and Twitter
18th March 2009
Technology is continually evolving and advancing; social networking
sites are springing up all the time and new ways of communicating
through technology are being developed at a rapid pace.
Adapting to these changing times, London Metropolitan University is
increasingly participating in new technology in order to engage with
its prospective, current and alumni students and staff.
You will find that London Met now has a presence on social networking sites such as MySpace, (click here), and Twitter (click here).
It even has its own YouTube channel where you can find student profiles
and videos about London Met. Watch out for induction videos from
central services, which will shortly be posted on the channel (click here).
A recent addition to the London Met website has been the popular
news stories’ RSS feed. An RSS feed allows information to be sent to
you without you needing to keep checking the website. Essentially its
an entirely hassle-free way of keeping up-to-date with breaking news at
the University. Not all websites currently have RSS but it is growing
rapidly in popularity and London Met is in good company by adopting the
technology with The Guardian, New York Times and CNN also providing the
service to their readers.
