London Met Student Enterprise Programme Partners with Step Enterprise
29th January 2009
The Student Enterprise Programme at LondonMet has entered into a partnership with Step Enterprise, to become an agent for the London Innovation Placement Programme (LIPP).
The LIPP is an LDA funded programme, which provides opportunities for LondonMet students to gain paid internship to carry out innovative projects for London SME’s. Additional funding is available for academic support, further enhancing the opportunity for our experts to work with business.
This holds excellent prospects for LondonMet and is extremely high profile as the winner of the ‘Entrepreneurial Spirit Award’ at this year’s London Knowledge Transfer Awards was a LIPP project.
Matthew Connelly, Student Enterprise Development Manager for LondonMet is enthusiastic about the partnership: ‘Our Student Enterprise Programme is committed to developing enterprising employees as well as entrepreneurs who go on to start their own business. This partnership will provide our students with terrific opportunities to gain experience, develop their skills in the workplace and contribute to the competitiveness of London SME’s’.
The Student Enterprise Programme is delivered by The London Enterprise Office the entrepreneurial arm of LondonMet, connecting academic and professional expertise with business, public sector agencies and third sector organisations.
