LondonMet leads in film success
6th March 2009
Charlotte Worthington, course leader for the MA Audio Visual Production at the Sir John Cass Department of Art, Media and Design (JCAMD) has written a new practical guide for students, practitioners and teachers involved in film-making.
Basics Film-Making: Producing is the first in a new series from publisher AVA Academia that introduces the reader to the world of the drama, documentary and TV magazine programme producer, identifying the skills and knowledge required to engage with the industry.
Charlotte’s book gives a dynamic overview of the role of the producer from development through to post-production and distribution. It also features interviews with a range of UK TV producers, who reveal the day-to-day realities of their jobs and the responsibilities they hold.
Talking about the book, Charlotte said: ‘There seemed to be a gap in the market for a simple, well presented book that introduces the basics of producing for students, teachers and those with a general interest in filmmaking. We kept the layout compact so it’s ideal for use on location as well as in class room.’
Charlotte Worthington has worked extensively as a producer and director in the UK TV industry. As well as a practising film-maker and writer, she also works as a creative consultant.
