TLEO Website Inspires Students to be Entrepreneurial
The website offers students the opportunity to create a business-facing personal profile, which creates a platform on which to promote their ideas, skills and specialisations. The group networking structure of the website also encourages interaction with academics and networking with fellow enterprising students; www.tleo.co.uk/student-portal

TLEO has also created The Ideas Factory, which is a monthly Business Ideas competition open to all LondonMet students. It is a fantastic forum for students to air their ideas and get other people’s feedback. The best idea of the month is voted for by Students. Staff also have the opportunity to participate in the interactive rating, expressing their ideas and opinions, whilst hopefully encouraging their own students to take part in this enterprise initiative. The student with the best idea wins a cash prize of £200.

Ideas are encouraged for Social Enterprises as well as ‘For Profit’ companies and ideas are rated on technical, organisational, market, competitive and financial feasibility. The website also offers information on FREE events, business support, 1-2-1 advice, funding grants and LondonMet’s Student Business Plan Competition.

Matthew Connelly, Student Enterprise Development Manager is enthusiastic about the initiative: ‘The Student Portal is a great resource for LondonMet students, providing excellent opportunities to develop enterprising skills, knowledge and experience. It also enables them to build a strong network of likeminded students and professionals, which is vital when starting a business.’
