Outside of work I enjoy being active and am a keen walker, cyclist, diver and wnidsurfer.

Experience

I am a Knolwedge Transfer professional, consultant and academic author. As well as teaching Business and Management subjects, I have Taught Theology and Religious Studies. I developed, and was the first Director, of the University of Cumbria's Department of Business and Community Enterprise and Director of City University's Knowledge Transfer Centre. Having set up and managed my own consultancy which focused predominently on performance improvement in the public sector I understand the challenge of business start ups. Prior to comming into Higher Education I spent 15 years managing public services in the voluntary sector, local government, working with police and criminal justice services, youth, social, education, urban regeneration and health services.
